In addition to the exhibition rooms, we have dedicated a section of our space for the creation of a “reading room.” This reading room will be a small library of books and magazines that hopes to fill a gap in the art educational system in Vietnam, which is dangerously challenged by the lack of reference materials and information about post-modern and contemporary art. Although we do offer internet access in our space, we feel that books offer a more tangible point of reference for artists who are beginning to understand current, contemporary issues and practices, both aesthetically and conceptually.

Sàn Art’s reading room hopes to provide local artists access to art books, exhibition catalogs, artist monographs, and art magazines on contemporary art from around the world. We hope that you will see the importance of this project and will join us in our efforts to make the reading room a success by donating publications from organization’s programs and exhibitions.

Currently we are in need of materials to expand our library. If you feel this a relevant cause, please send book donations to our address, located in the "about" page. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at art@san-art.org.
